Sometimes when we need to be heard without judgment and when we have difficulty connecting with others, we seek help. We may want to make sense of a painful past to make existing in the present less challenging. Other times, we are looking to become a better version of ourselves. Whatever the need, therapy provides opportunities for healing, expression, and evolution. Through therapy, a deeper sense of one’s identity can be found, self compassion can be learned, and healing can occur.

As a therapist, I use a relational psychodynamic style and integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) interventions to meet my client’s needs. I take a collaborative, conversational approach. Therapy should feel like a conversation in which both therapist and client are fully engaged in the process of furthering the client’s self-discovery. I offer feedback, encourage curiosity, and teach coping skills to address anxiety, depression, trauma exposure, and relationship issues. In cultivating an understanding of my client’s past and combining that knowledge with the here-and-now, I support my clients in identifying what they need and how to deal with complicated feelings in ways that work for them. With families and couples, I support my clients in learning how to understand each other, navigating life transitions and conflict, and facilitating adaptive communication skills.

Throughout my career I have worked with adults, adolescents, children, families and couples who have sought support for a wide range of emotional, developmental, and social challenges. Additionally, for the last 14 years I have enjoyed working with youth and adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD using behavioral and psychodynamic play therapy.  I have provided therapy for people of color and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
