Engaging in therapy is one of the greatest acts of self-care. It is through the therapeutic process that we become more fully aware of our authentic selves and in turn, engage in our relationships, work, and aspirations in more fulfilling and rewarding ways. Life can often present us with a variety of challenges which can lead to painful emotions, feeling overwhelmed, or burdened by the past. Together in therapy we will make time to slow down, reflect, and gain clarity on the path forward that aligns with your values and goals.

I believe in fostering a strong therapeutic bond through my genuine care, respect, and positive regard for my clients. My approach is warm and my goal is for my clients to feel seen and heard. As such, it is of the utmost importance for me to allow space for my clients to explore how aspects of identity, culture, and personal circumstances have impacted their unique lived experiences. I help my clients foster increased awareness of thought and behavior patterns, as well as how they have been making meaning of past experiences. The increased insight gained through the therapy process allows for new opportunities and positive changes to occur both inside and outside of the therapy room.

My therapeutic style is integrative. I often incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic and Relational Theory into my work with clients to address immediate distress as well as to facilitate life-long change. I work with my clients to flexibly meet them where they are and to collaboratively set goals for treatment. I have experience working with adults from diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of presenting concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma-related disorders, relationship, and adjustment difficulties. In addition, I incorporate Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) in my couples' work to foster increased understanding, safety, and trust within the relationship. I have considerable experience working with Veterans, active-duty Soldiers, and military families, and have completed national certification training in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) through the VA Healthcare System. I am affirming of all genders, sexual orientation, religions, race/ethnicities, cultures, and appreciate the intersectionality of the various identities one may hold.
